The Supplementary Honeymoon

Seven months into wedded bliss, Oliver and I decided to go on a second honeymoon.  Oliver wanted to go to Palawan but I insisted on Boracay. Guess who won? ;-)

On our first day, I almost clobbered Oliver for being on the phone for most of the morning talking to people from his office. It's kind of blasphemous to be working on this most sacred ground for sun worshippers!

I posted this pic on FB

Oliver eventually put down the phone and relented to doing some serious R&R.

Oliver says mukha syang manyak dito. Agree, hehe..

The last time I went to Boracay was in 2007 and not much has changed. We did notice that Starbucks opened a branch there.

Starbucks Boracay

We enjoyed the buffet lunch at Shangri-la Boracay and checking out the other sights in that part of the island.

Buffet at Vintana. Oliver's happy eh?

I hate it when sahsimi is cut like this. It looks kawawa.

Slim pickings but hey, I can eat all I want!

Homemade ice cream!

Kulay pa lang, in love na ko dun sa pool.

The pool was surrounded by these columns that
give off a real island vibe.

Of course the beach is still better at
white beach but still, pretty 'no?

This pose is good for my body type
i.e. pangtago taba

It seemed smaller than Shangri-La Mactan but nonetheless, Shangri-La Boracay was simply gorgeous! Kahit langaw dun maganda.

Shangri-la langaws even look clean

As I usually do when I'm at the beach, I made sand art:

I brought Oliver to the Bulabog side to check out the awesome kite surfing action!

Coolness!

However, Oliver was unimpressed.

What made Oliver stand up and pay attention was my favorite part of the island.

What's not to love?

I was thinking of putting here all our favorite Boracay food places but I think  I'll reserve that for another post. Some resto pics though:

Me at Lemon  iCafe
(which we both loved especially the nice lady who runs the place)

Oliver at Cyma (which he doesn't love all that much)

It was definitely a great supplementary honeymoon for Oliver and me. It was well-needed and well-deserved.  Imagine the drudgery that happened on our first day back at work.
