We took the 40-minute walk which which extended to like an 1 & 1/2 hours from all the picture taking, the chika, power bites and of course, the "pant, pant" breaks. I can't imagine taking the 4 hour trek and still be alive today. My officemates are planning to go this April. I'm tempted to go but, my body is telling me to sit this out for now.
I think my camera was on the wrong setting when I took this shot kaya medyo saturated yung colors but I swear that at certain points of our stay there, the water turns to that shade of green.
Balak ko i-post kung paano pumunta dito sa next blog ko. An officemate (Katie) organized it for us and she sent us super complete instructions. I-post ko promise. You and Adrian should go! :-)
i'm going this summer. =) what footwear should i use? they say you'd find nike soles along the way...i don't wanna wear my cross-trainers kung masisira lang. are mojos fine?
Mojo's are perfect for so long as the sole is semi-fexible so your foot can sorta grab rocks as you step on them. Don't use flipflops because they easily come off. I used closed shoes kasi I have a tendency to trip and if I'm wearing sandals, klutz that I am, I'd hit my toes against the rocks. In case you wear closed shoes, wear socks kasi sand would sometimes get into your shoes and that will scrape against your bare foot resulting to sores. Nikes are not recommended kasi totoo yon, ang daming swelas ng Nike along the way and also sayang naman. In fact, medyo natanggal yung sole ng Nike rubber shoes ko dahil nabasa. Adidas and New Balance rubber shoes were the clear winners during our trek. And I wished I brought along my aqua shoes. Mabato kasi yung lake eh and you could cut yourself stepping on the rocks.
yung sa inyo, was it the abbreviated 40-minute trot to the crater you enjoyed, or the 4-hour trek through hell we had to endure last June?
ReplyDeleteactually might return sometime soon.
