"Shut Up and Drive" by Rihanna is such a cool driving song. In my list, it's up there with the likes of "Highway Star" and "Born to be Wild". For the benefit of family members and Oliver who may be reading this: NOT THAT I FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL WHEN LISTENING TO THESE SONGS OK?
I also love, love "Take a Bow", "Disturbia", "Don't Stop the Music" and "Hate that I Love You". Weirdly enough, I don't like Umbrella, ella, ella, ey much, except if sang by Marie Digby! The best!
It was my idea to watch the Rihanna concert and good thing Oliver was a willing co-conspirator. Well actually, he made me choose, either we see the Rihanna concert or the NU Rock Awards. Guess which won? Hehe.
Traffic along C-5 last Sunday stretched from Ortigas Avenue all the way until the Fort.
Oliver and I killed time inside the car by role playing:
After being stuck in traffic for like two hours we finally got to park somewhere near Market!Market and walked a good 1KM to the concert venue. Ang daming tao! According to Rihanna (close kami) there were 70,000 people who watched the concert but I'm sure that excludes pa the people watching from outside the grounds and peeking from their tony Serendra condos. That's definitely more than the number of people who trooped to see the Eheads concert. (By the way, there's someone from my network who's been dropping hints about seeing the Eheads again on November 26, 2008. Ano na kasi yon eh?!)
I'm not that into Chris Brown but I must say, ang galing nung set nya! Solid! Practically everybody was dancing! I wasn't though. Too shy hehe...
I loooved it when Chris Brown started dancing to Michael Jackson hits. Ang gwapo nya pa! Na-bother lang ako kasi when he did this set, naka t-shirt and shorts lang sya na parang binili sa kalapit na Market!Market!
And it was mighty amusing for Oliver and me to watch this guy dancing ala Chris Brown in front of us (complete with white blazer in the smoldering heat na pinanindigan nya talaga until the end of the concert). He's the guy behind me in this pic:
After Chris Brown's set, there was a brief pyrotechnic show! Woohoo!
Rihanna started her set with "Disturbia" wearing a tanga Alma Moreno would be jealous of. Oliver seemed a little too happy at this point. Hmmm...
Although unlike Alma Moreno who'd start the Top 10 Hits fully clothed and ends up wearing a tanga in the end, Rihanna starts wearing a tanga and ends up fully clothed in the end. Baliktad?
I think we were all so pumped up during Chris Brown's set such that we were all a little less energetic during Rihanna's set. But it was a great set nonetheless!
It really picked up at the end when she sang "Take a Bow" "Don't Stop the Music" and of course, she ended with her signature song, "Umbrella", which she performed as a duet with Chris Brown, yiheee! Awww such a cute couple those two!
The concert ended sans an encore around midnight (?). Oliver and I had to walk all the way back to the car and we were just too tired and sleepy to take another picture. NOT!
